Easy Tuna Melt Sandwich – Crispy, Creamy, and Loaded with Flavor

Ingredients

For the Tuna Salad:

  • 4 small cans albacore tuna, drained
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup finely chopped celery
  • ¼ cup finely diced red bell pepper
  • ¼ cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Sandwiches:

  • 16 slices whole wheat bread
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese (or more to taste)
  • ¼ cup softened butter

Instructions

1. Prepare the Tuna Filling

In a large bowl, mix the tuna, mayo, celery, red pepper, red onion, mustard, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.

2. Assemble the Sandwiches

  • Lay 8 slices of bread flat.
  • Spread a generous layer of tuna salad on each.
  • Top with a slice of cheddar cheese.
  • Close each sandwich with the remaining 8 slices of bread.

3. Grill to Golden Perfection

  • Spread butter on the outer sides of each sandwich.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook sandwiches in batches, about 3–4 minutes per side, until the bread is crispy and golden and the cheese has melted.
